Medical and standard tax deductions

By Terry Savage on February 19, 2022 | Social Security

What is the standard deduction for married couple ages 73 and 79. And how much of our medical can we deduct.

Terry Says

For 2021 (and 2022) the standard deduction is $25,100 for married couples filing jointly.
You can deduct unreimbursed medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. But you must use Schedule A to itemize deducations.
