Annuity
My wife retired in 2005. At that time she put a lump sum payment in an Equitable Annuity. She has been drawing a monthly check on it since that time. She is 78 years old and would like to know if now would be a good time to annuitize it ?

So she has just been taking withdrawals and has not officially “annuitized”? There might be very little left to generate a lifetime monthly check. She should ask what she would receive if she decides to annuitize now.
