Signing up for Medicare first time advice
Hi Terry,
I turn 65 in October and will be signing up for Medicare.
Retired first responder.
Pensions of 6k per month, not drawing SS yet, 401k is 475K (down 25K in the last month)
General health is good, I’m perfect weight, taking meds for high BP (family history, not lifestyle related) and a Statin (again family history, no cardiac events. So not foresseing any major health issue in the near future touch wood.
I’m being bombarded with adverts for Medicare supplements and need some help picking which ones to get. Any advice on which to get would be greatly appreciated,
thank you for all you do.

I’ll give you two easy choices:
1. Go to Medicare.gov and do the online comparison between supplements. YOu want the “G” supplement — the most , but the most comprehensive. After you enter your age and state of residence, you’ll see a comparison of Part G plans, which must all offer the same coverage — so just check the “star” rating.
You do NOT want a Medicare Advantage plan, no matter how appealing! This is managed care and it is getting more “managed” and limited every year!!
2. Go to www.JTMedicareSolutions.com and follow the trusted advise of Thomas Dillon. That’s who I sent all my friends to. Oh, and remember to also sign up for Part D — the drug plan. He will guide you through that as well. You don’t have to use my name, as I get nothing out of this (or any other) recommendation — just the knowledge that you will be in good hands.
