Social Security fairness act refunds
I received a refund because of the fairness act and will also receive a higher monthly SS benefit moving forward. This additional money for 2025 will be just enough to put me in a higher IRMAA bracket. ( I already am paying an IRMAA this year,) Will the refund for 2024 be used when calculating IRMAA?

Yes, it will. But it won’t take effect for another year after that, likely. And then it will be a one-time thing, which you can appeal if your income drops.
