Social Security benefits of ex-husband
I am almost 68 and still work full time. I divorced in 2019 and neither of us remarried. My ex-husband is retired for several years and I have been told that I receive benefits from his retirement account while I still work. Is this correct? I make more money than he did.
Thank you,

If you were married for at least 10 years, and can prove it (harder now that it’s tough to get an appointment at a SS office!), you are entitled to half your ex-spouses’s benefit. But that will be only for two years. Then when you turn 70 you MUST claim your own benefit (since it won’t get any larger) even if you are still working!
If I were you, I’d just not start trouble right now. Keep working and collect your much larger benefit after your 70th birthday!
