Interest rates should be controlled

I don’t have a question, I have a comment/idea that I wish you could somehow get started.
I don’t want interest rates to go down. I am a saver and want the higher income that higher rates give me. However, I am not greedy. I would be happy with a 4% return(which is less than I got a year ago). Also, for mortgage rates I think that 6% would be a moderate rate. Let’s lock in the 4 and 6% rates for the long term then everybody is happy.

Yes, well great idea — but the free market doesn’t work like that! Interest rates are set in the marketplace for debt, based on the demand for money, and the fear of inflation that could erode returns!
These days you can easily get 4% on 6-month Treasury bills from the U.S. government. Read this:
