401k bond funds
You mentioned on WGN that if I in my 50’s I should move my 401K to bonds. I currently only have $117,000. Does it matter if I put them in just 1 bond account on fidelity or should I’ll put a little in the 3 bond options I have?
Terry Says
Take the short-term or medium term bond option. That’s safest.
Remember when interest rates go up, bond prices go down.
A recession would bring rates down (as is happening now, with fears of recession).
But inflation (brought on by tariffs) would make rates go up.
Few 40lk plans offer a money market fund, so the shortest term bond fund is the safest option.
