Ask Terry Questions Annuity recommendation from Fidelity

Annuity recommendation from Fidelity

By Terry Savage on April 22, 2025 | Financial Planning / Retirement

Fidelity recommendations I put 50% of my 401k and other savings in an annuity, roughly $600k. I retired last July and will be moving my investments from my company’s Empower Program. Fidelity also suggested that I start collecting social security when I turn 67 instead of waiting until I’m 70. I don’t trust annuities and had planned to wait on social security, as you suggest. I turn 66 this summer and I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you, and thank you for all your trustworthy advice!!

Terry Says

oh NO!! That was NOT Fidelity; it must have an ignorant broker who puts his clients transactions through Fidelity!!!

I’m shocked to hear that advice. It is ALL WRONG!
