Hi Terry – I was wondering why my credit score can be so differenct between TransUnion and Equifax. Transunion is 800 and Equifax is 761. I don’t have Experian because I have a freeze on it. My scores used to be in the low 800s. When you get a credit report, what should I be looking for to determine why my scores have changed.

Check to make sure both bureaus have the same accounts reporting — and that there isn’t a report on one of them from a creditor you don’t recognize. Each has a different formula, but that is a pretty wide spread. And then freeze your report at ALL THREE BUREAUS!
