Ask Terry Questions drawing social security

drawing social security

By Terry Savage on August 09, 2021 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I am a 63 year old divorced woman. I was married for over 20 years. I work and make about $30,000 a year. Can i start drawing half of my husbands social security now and continue working and then at age 68 or so when i retire drop his and collect mine? Or take mine now and switch to drawing his. Which ever is higher really. Im not sure of exact amounts but is this something that is possible to do?
thanks,

Spend the $40 to get the REAL, correct answers. Social Security reps are not easy to reach and do not all have the sophistication to guide you!
