Fraud, Retirement

By Terry Savage on August 08, 2021 | Wild Card

Terry: In 2019, my daughter stole $25,000 out of my money market account. My bank immediately knew it was fraud because I rarely took money out of this account, and in 2 months time, 34 fraudulent checks were written and cashed. I filled out all necessary paperwork, filed police report, but they refused to return my money. Is this standard procedure, and do they not hold any responsibility? I’m now 65 yrs old, single, earned $33,000 last year. I would so love to have a few years to retire and take the work stress out of my life, even though I realize I will probably have to do some kind of work, but it seems impossible. In all honesty, I find myself getting very depressed with my situation. Thank you for reading this

And you waited two years to raise a stink because nothing happened?? If you’ll send me an email to Terry@terrysavage.com, with all the details: starting with the date of the thefts, any names you took or copies of reports you made,, any police report you filed, and of course the name of the bank, I can try to make a call. But honestly if you don’t have any of the above, then there is nothing I can do for you.
