Ask Terry Questions HSA Investments

HSA Investments

By Terry Savage on August 15, 2021 | Insurance & Annuities

Hi Terry,
I’m 61 years old and I have a HSA account with approximately $20,000 that is accruing next to nothing in interest. Can you recommend an HSA that has no fees, the best possible investments and what type of funds, etc. would you recommend?
Thank you!

Did you purchase your own high-deductible health insurance associated with a Health Savings Account? Or is it provided by your employer? If the latter, you are stuck.
But remember, the idea of the HSA is that you will have money there to pay for uninsured expenses — “Investing” it aggressively could expose that account to losses.
If you purchase your own insurance (and are insurable now) compare these types of policies at www.eHealthInsurance.com.
