Have been a fan of the column for years and just motivated my twin daughters to start following your advice in conjunction with their husbands.
You mentioned in subject column weeks ago that the IRS is way behind in processing amended
(paper) returns and that ’19 amendments to personal returns have been processed through july’20 submissions. Can you please provide any estimate as to receiving my refund if the IRS received my amended ’19 return Sep 28, ’20

I’d love to make a guess — but at least wait until a year is up. Have you checked on the IRS Website for the Where’s My Refund link?
Yes they are way behind. But at least you’ll earn 3% interest on the delayed refund!
