Lottery winnings
I recently won $3000.00 on the ill lottery. I am 70 years old and don’t file taxes anymore. How do I pay for the federal taxes that I owe without filing taxes. They give me the form when I won and said keep when you file your taxes. Is there a special form from the government I need to fill out. Thank you in advance

Since you are over age 65, the income level over which you must file an income tax return for 2024 is $15,700.
Congrats on this windfall. But if it brings you over that level, you must file a tax return and pay a small amount of taxes. You’ll need that 1099 form to use with your filing.
