Medicare benefts

By Terry Savage on April 03, 2025 | Insurance & Annuities

Will I need to pay more to receive Medicare benefits, if I haven’t fulfilled the recommended quarters to qualify for social security? Thank you.

Terry Says

If you haven’t worked enough to get Medicare Part A for free (and don’t qualify through your spouse’s work history, or if you have certain disabilities, you can pay monthly premiums to enroll in Medicare Part A. In 2025, the premium is $285 per month for those with 30-39 credits and $518 per month for fewer than 30 credits.
Medicare Parts B, C, and D do not require work credits.
Check on your eligibility at Medicare.gov.
