Observation vs admittance
I went to the hospital emergency room. My wife was told that I was admitted. However, 2 days later a social worker came in and informed us that the doctor reviewed it and changed it to observation.
I was only in the hospital for 2 days and went to a rehab facility. I was at the rehab facility for 2 weeks and had to pay for my time there. My only cost was for the rehab was a few thousand dollars.

Yes, this is exactly what I was warning about. You must be admitted and for THREE days — before Medicare will cover rehab or skilled nursing!
