Social Security
I need to start my SSI ASAP, the reason is I’m on short term disability, and I’m getting $461 per week. I’m fully eligible to get 100% of the amount, ($3100) I’m 67y and month old. Signed online and they gave me phone apoitment callback in May 16/2025. I need to start immediately, like in April. What to do to speed the process plz.

Are you on SSDI — the Social Security Disability program? If so, your regular SS benefit will come automatically the month after you reach your full retirement age. In fact, you are already there.
But are you getting worker’s comp, or disability benefits from work? If so, you need to apply for your Social Security retirement benefit, assuming you qualify with 40 quarters (10 years) of covered work.
It’s almost impossible to get to a SS office these days. They’ve cut the number of workers.
