UNEMPLOYMENT ENVELOPE MY ADDRESS BUT FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT LIVE HERE NOR RELATED

By Terry Savage on August 15, 2021 | Wild Card

I am receiving a letter from Illinois Unemployment in our delivery today addressed to a PETER B WHO DOES NOT LIVE AT THIS ADDRESS NOR HAS EVER LIVED HERE AND IS NO RELATION TO ANYONE LIVING IN MY HOUSE.

What do I do with it? Just put it back in the mail writing across the name and address that NO SUCH PERSON LIVING OR HAS LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS?

Please advise.

Yes, that’s exactly what you should do. It may not even get a second look at IDES,though. I erased the name, and it is a common one. So no sense searching it out. Poor guy is a victim of identity theft!
Good time for everyone to read this article and FREEZE YOUR CREDIT — so no one can open new accounts in your name.
Sadly,IDES doesn’t bother to check for identity theft with the credit bureaus before sending benefits to applicants! They’re a mess.
