Unemployment fraud
Hi. Someone is trying to claim unemployment benefits under my daughter’s name. She is employed in Illinois. What should she do? Next steps?

Immediately contact IEDS and post a fraud complaint. Then read this article and freeze her credit reports at each of the three bureaus (links are in the article). And read those reports to see if a bank made an inquiry. That might be the bank where they scam artists are trying to send unemployment benefits — contact that bank immediately.
