WEP/GPO. SSI wants me to return benefits
I want to switch to my deceased husbands benefits and take mine at 70. Ssi informed me I would have to return the money I received since last June in order to do this. ???

Yes, you could withdraw your own benefit application BUT you would have to repay every penny (including any deductions to pay for Medicare). You only have one year from when you started taking benefits to make this decision.
